Irish music is vital to local radio, so, once again we are on the look out for Laois, Offaly and Westmeath’s most AWESOME artists and bands!
CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR WINNER
Coolboy are a four-piece Indie Rock band based in Co. Laois, Ireland. Comprising of Tadgh O’Dwyer (lead vocals and guitar), Fionn Devoy (lead guitar), Ruairi Phelan (Drums) and Alex Power (Bass Guitar), the band formed in the Autumn of 2023.
Their lively style draws influences from classics like The Beatles and Thin Lizzy, right up to modern acts such as Catfish and the Bottlemen and The Backseat Lovers. Their live shows have been described by many as “unmistakably electrifying” and their songs are said to be “destined for the biggest festival stages across the globe.”
The lads are just off the back of recording a brand new television series with RTÉ ONE called ‘An Ghig Mhór’. They were selected as one of six up and coming artists in the whole country to take part in the show, and have their very own episode airing in Autumn 2024.
With their unique, upbeat and distinctive sound they are making their presence known in the Irish music scene. Their musical prowess combined with their knack for creating memorable, anthemic choruses has led them to become one of the most exciting up and coming bands around.
