Petrol has risen by almost 50 cent.
Fuel prices are currently at an all time high and are having a significant impact on household budgets, according to the Consumers Association of Ireland.
Currently, the average price of petrol stands at €1.72 per litre, with a litre of diesel at €1.63.
This is a significant contrast to last year, when the average price of petrol was €1.25, with diesel at €1.17.
