Dating apps can be seen to provide a confidence boost when they receive "matches".

A study has found around half of users aren't interested in finding dates - with many remaining active for the same reasons they use social media.
It's thought dating apps have become sources of entertainment and social connection, providing a confidence boost when they receive "matches".
Mairead Loughman, from Love HQ in Mullingar, says online dating can be mentally exhausting:
Dating Coach Frances Kelleher says despite this, dating apps are a great way to meet people:
In a statement to Midlands 103, Tinder says:
"Tinder has been downloaded over 530 million times and created more than 75bn matches. Over half of Tinder members are aged 18-25. Tinder’s in-app ‘Relationship Goals’ feature enables members to signal their intent. Globally, 40% of Tinder members say that they are looking for a long term relationship, vs 13% looking for a short term connection."
