62 people are currently employed in the factory that is due to close this summer.
Bord na Mona says it remains "fully committed" to supporting all employees impacted by the early closure of Derrinlough briquette factory.
Operations will cease on the 1st of June and decommissioning will take place in the months following.
The closure is part of Bord na Mona's transition to a climate solutions company, they had previously committed to ending peat harvesting in 2021.
62 employees will be effected by the move, and the company say they are working with them on redeployment and retraining throughout the business.
