That's according to Offaly councillor Eamon Dooley, after a meeting of the company's board this morning.
In response, the Department of Climate Action and Environment says it will prioritise peat rehabilitation, with a scheme to be finalised and announced in the coming weeks.
Minister Richard Bruton says the government has provided €36 million to the midlands to ensure workers are supported during the transition to more sustainable jobs.
But Fianna Fáil's Eamon Dooley has doubts about the funding:
