The building was constructed in 1867 for Lord Greville.
Conservation works on the Market House in Mullingar has been completed.
Upgrades were being carried to the iconic clock tower - dating back to 1867 - which had become badly weathered over the years.
The timber louvers and leadwork have been replaced, and reinforced with a steel frame.
The corroded weathervane has also been restored, the clock cleaned, and a light installed on the clock face.
Westmeath County Council says the works will help to preserve the landmark building for generations to come.
