Construction workers in Mullingar had to come to the assistance of an artic lorry driver who got stuck due to road works in the town.
The driver was turning right from Mount Street onto Pearse Street.
A video on the Mullingar News and Views page shows the difficult maneuver.
According to the post an eye witness who took the video said, “there was very little room for the articulated lorry to swing right.”
The eyewitness also pointed out that, “the space is very limited for the articulated lorry turning at the Apex on the top of Mount Street resulting in the Lorry getting stuck and unable to complete the turn”
“The new poles that had been erected were causing problems as they appeared to be too close to the lorry . Also the Black plastic planter boxes were very much in the way of the lorry trying to turn. The boxes had to be forcible moved out of the way but even then the lorry had no choice but to mount the Newly enhanced. footpath.”
