Coronavirus: 313 New Confirmed Cases

Health officials have confirmed 313 new cases of covid-19.

70 people are currently in hospital with the virus.

Meanwhile, it's estimated the Delta covid-19 variant is 40 per cent more transmissible than the UK variant.

That's according to Britain's Health Minister, who says the easing of restrictions at the end of June could be more difficult, as a result of the variant.

It's now the dominant strain in the UK, while there have been 110 cases recorded in Ireland.
