This year's graduates' entire senior cycle was disrupted by covid-19.
It's D-Day for this year's Leaving Cert students after a tumultuous few years.
The state exam results will be available to view online from 10 o'clock this morning. Students will also be able to receive their results in-person through their school.
The later release date is one of the changes this year's graduates had to contend with, after their entire senior cycle was disrupted by covid-19.
Principal of Moate Community School, Tom Lowry is reminding students that today's results are not 'the be all and end all':
Education Minister Norma Foley is congratulating the over 61,000 students getting their today.
She says it's a major milestone for Leaving Cert students:
1. Congratulations to every student receiving their results today. You have reached this significant milestone in your education journey and that alone is an enormous achievement. Congratulations to one and all of you

Their marks have been adjusted upwards to bring them in line with last year's record-high results.

Many students will not get the results they desired today.
CEO of mental health charity Turn2me, Tullamore's Fiona O'Malley says in that instance it's important parents strike the right tone:
Students are being advised to exercise caution as they celebrate tonight.
