The case is adjourned until July 21st for time for the State to gather more evidence.
A decision on the future of a large scale asylum seeker centre in Westmeath has been deferred.
It comes after a group of public representatives from the Athlone area successfully argued the construction of a 1,000 person capacity centre in Lissywollen should not be allowed on environmental grounds.
Breakingnews.ie is reporting the State has been given one more month to produce evidence that legislation to address the issues is on the way.
Justice Emily Farrell voiced concern over the welfare of those currently staying in tents on the site.
She ordered nobody but those granted accommodation last February should be offered accommodation at the centre, and that no new works should be carried out at the facility.
The High Court heard on Monday that just 137 residents now live in temporary tented accommodation in Athlone.
The case has been adjourned until July 21st.
