It will come into effect from 18th November.
It's hoped putting a price on electric vehicle charging points will help improve the network.
The ESB will charge electric vehicle owners who top up at their public hubs, from November 18th.
Portlaoise motoring journalist, Bob Flavin, says the company was also allocated 20 million euro in the last Budget.
He believes the ESB should put the money towards improving the existing network - so electric vehicles can become a viable option for people who travel long distance:
