Ireland's transition away from peat production solidifies the need for energy security at a pan-European level.
That's the campaign being pushed by European Election Candidate in Midlands North West, Barry Cowen.
He says he was disappointed by the means and allocation of Just Transition funding to the peat regions, after Offaly received just 3% of the latest round of EU investment.
