Farm organisations have taken their eye off the ball when it comes to the most pressing matters.
That's according to Farming Independent Journalist Martin Coughlan following a major protest in Athlone at the weekend over the Mercosur Trade Deal.
He believes the people who attended the protest wanted to make a statement on rural Ireland and the importance of it.

Bullocks are currently at €7 a kilo, with heifers varying from €7 to €7.10 a kilo.
