Ed Gallagher from Laois Fire Service who also works as a carpenter is a leading head for the National Directorate for Fire and Emergency Management attempting to attract people into the industry.
Having recruited and trained 562 new retained firefighters since September 2023, Fire and Rescue Services across the country are still in need of additional workers.
