The music and entertainment kicks off at the Laois festival today for the first time since 2019.
A record crowd is expected as the gates officially open for this year’s Electric Picnic.
The capacity has been increased to 70,000 as the Laois event makes its return after a two year absence due to the pandemic.
Dermot Kennedy and Megan Thee Stallion are headlining the opening day of the festival.
Danny O’Reilly and his band The Coronas, who are performing on Sunday, are looking forward to seeing other acts on the line up:
"Forget the sat nav" is the gardaí's advice to those driving to the Stradbally venue.
A traffic management plan is in place to facilitate the arrival of festival-goers.

There are lots of changes at this year’s EP, as the festival returns for the first time since 2019.
The site opened yesterday for 20,000 early entry ticket holders, while the music and entertainment kicks off today.
The main arena is bigger, the main stage has moved slightly, and several other areas like Mind and Body are in new locations on the site.
Festival director Melvin Benn says the changes have been planned for a long time:

Those attending Electric Picnic this weekend are being advised not to bring anything you can't afford to lose.
Gardaí have released a list of do's and don'ts to make the return of the Laois festival as safe and enjoyable as possible.
The top tips also include remembering where you've pitched your tent, avoiding walking alone, and not storing all your valuables in one place.
