Hidden homelessness is presenting a massive issue for people in Offaly, and there is currently no way to keep a record of it.
That's according to Local Election Candidate for Birr, Clare Claffey, who wants to see more affordable homes to fill the 'gap' for people who are struggling but who earn too much to be placed on the council housing list.
The Social Democrats rep says houses and buildings currently derelict need to be tackled and brought back into use.
She says the situation as it stands is heartbreaking:
