Housing prices across the midlands continued to rise over the course of the past 12 months.
Wetsmeath saw an increase of 11% from last year, with the price of a house set at €300,000, while Laois has seen prices rise up 9% to €285,000.
Houses in Offaly are priced at €265,000, a 10% increase.
Property Consultant and former CEO of the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers Pat Davitt feels that more properties for sale would help the situation of housing prices.
