The county is in line to benefit from the addition of a new Plan and Order Point.
A new IKEA store is coming to Carlow.
The discount furniture giant is opening a new Plan and Order Point in Fairgreen Shopping Centre at the end of this month.
It'll be the fifth such store to open in Ireland, which offer customers access to home furnishing advice and expertise, supporting them in designing, buying, and installing their kitchens and bedrooms.
A Plan and Order Point had been planned for Portlaoise, but IKEA pulled out of that move when it couldn't find suitable retail accommodation last year.
The retailer says it plans to open more of these stores around the country later this year.
Martyn Allan, Market Manager, IKEA Ireland, says:
"We’re excited to bring a touch of Swedishness and affordable home-furnishings to parts of Ireland where we’ve not yet had a physical presence before.
In the Plan and Order Points, we design dream kitchens at an affordable price.
They’re also a fantastic place for us to help people living far away from our store in Ballymun with their other IKEA purchases, such as ordering a sofa or a wardrobe."
