"It Will Help Midlands Families For Generations!"

That's according to an Offaly committee who are hoping to build the state of the art playground.

A midlands village is funding to build a state-of-the-art inclusive community playground.

Mucklagh Community Centre is holding a 50km fundraising cycle from Mucklagh to Cloghan to raise funds for the project. 

Registration for the event opens at 9am at Mucklagh Community Centre, with over 60 cyclists setting off at 10am sharp.

The fundraising campaign aims to create a accessible and inclusive area for all children.

The committee says they want to provide a space where every child, regardless of ability, can play, learn and thrive.

The development is part of a wider plan to enhance amenities in the village. 

“This isn’t just about a playground — it’s about building a community hub that welcomes all children and families. We want Mucklagh to have a safe, fun and inclusive place for every child to enjoy,” said Rachel Scally, a spokesperson from Mucklagh Community Centre. “This cycle is a fun and healthy way for the community to come together and contribute to something that will benefit midlands generations to come. We encourage anyone who can afford it to donate to this brilliant cause!”

Community members, local businesses, and families are encouraged to show their support by donating online.
