Laois Producer's Ukrainian Language Film Named As Ireland's Selection For The Oscars

Sanatorium is entered into the International Feature Film Category.

A Ukrainian language film produced by a Laois man has been named as Ireland's choice at the Oscars this year.

Sanatorium which is produced by Portarlington's Ken Wardrop, has been entered into the International Feature Film category.

Countries can enter one film, which is not in English, into that section.

The Irish Film and Television Academy says it follows in the footsteps of Irish language films like An Cailín Ciúin and Kneecap and the Arabic film The Shadow of Beirut.
