The Laois Roads Policing Unit stopped the motorist on Saturday.
An unaccompanied learner driver travelling more than 50kph over the speed limit has been arrested in Laois.
The motorist was stopped by the Laois Roads Policing Unit on the M7 on Saturday after being caught driving at 174kph.
They also had no tax, insurance or NCT cert.
Gardaí arrested the driver at the scene, and seized their vehicle.
