The motorist was caught on Tuesday night.
An unaccommpanied learner driver was caught travelling in a "dangerously defective" car by Gardaí in the midlands.
The motorist was spotted driving suspiciously in Edenderry on Tuesday night, and later fled into housing estate when they saw Gardaí.
When stopped by officers, the driver was also noted to have no tax or insurance.
Their vehicle has been seized and Gardaí say proceedings have commenced against the motorist.
