A Midlands TD is urging Bus Éireann to remove the cut off age for bus drivers to address the school bus place shortage.
Longford-Westmeath TD Micheál Carrigy believes scrapping the age limit of 70 for drivers on the School Transport Scheme could be a short term solution.
The Fine Gael rep also wants Bus Eireann to eventually hand over control of school bus service to Transport Infrastructure Ireland.
