The incident occurred at around 2am this morning.
A pedestrian has been killed in a crash in Offaly.
The man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene, following the collision with a car on the R446 at Marshbrook, just outside Moate, shortly before 2am this morning.
The occupants of the car received medical attention, but were not seriously injured.
The road will remain closed until a technical examination of the scene takes place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time - especially those with dashcam footage - to come forward.
