Meals On Wheels Returns To Laois Town After Two Year Gap

Funding has been secured for its short term future.

Meals on Wheels is set to finally be reintroduced to a Laois town.

The service stopped in Portlaoise in June 2023 due to funding issues and is set to be supported for a 12 month period by Laois Partnership Company.

It's received a one-off funding grant from Leprino Cheese to start the pilot project, which will also fund the position of a Meals on Wheels coordinator.

It will coordinate with the local steering committee to organise volunteers, draw up rotas and co-ordinate delivery routes.
