Almost 1,200 cases were confirmed in Westmeath between October 29th and November 5th.
The country's 14-day incidence rate of Covid-19 has exceeded 1,000 for the first time since late January.
It stands at 1,037 per 100,000 people - with Leitrim, Louth and Westmeath the highest.
The Lake County has the third highest rate at 1,324 after 1,176 people tested positive for the virus between October 29th and November 5th.
Laois' rate is at 1,282, with 1,086 cases being confirmed in the same period, while Offaly has the second lowest rate at 822 after 641 cases were confirmed.
The highest number of cases in over 10 months was reported yesterday, at 5,438.
