There are 50 fee paying day schools across the country and two thirds of them have hiked their fees this year according to an analysis by the Irish Independent.
The average increase is €165 however the hike was €300 for Cistercian College in Roscrea.
The top three most expensive fee paying schools are in Dublin - they are St Columbas's in Rathfarnham, Sutton Park School and Alexandra College.
Meanwhile boarding schools are also seeing a rise in enrolments - the fees at Wilson's Hospital School in Westmeath are now €12,600 for seven days while in Cistercian college they stand at €15,500.
