Jason McKevitt feels Columb Barracks in Mullingar can be used for better purposes since its closure in 2012.
While Fine Gael rep Andrew Duncan is calling on county councillors to take charge of the site, and to push for Urban Regeneration funding.
Mr McKevitt says doing nothing with the former military barracks should not be an option:
