Midlands Hospital Issues Overcrowding Warning

Patients are asked to consider alternative options before attending the ED today.

Mullingar Regional Hospital is warning of busy conditions this afternoon.

The adult emergency department is particularly affected, with staff working to manage the current adult in-patient and Covid-19 bed capacity, together with scheduled care.

You're asked to consider alternative options - such as your GP or local pharmacy - before attending the ED.

If you do come to ED and are not triaged as seriously ill, you may need to wait for a long period to be seen.

Patients who require urgent care will be prioritised, however.

Management would like to thank the public for their support and understanding during this period.
