Midlands Inventor Showing Off Engineering Work On New TV Series

He will feature on the new RTE series Big Life Fix

An Offaly inventor is showing off his engineering work on a new TV show starting tonight.

Birr's Trevor Vaugh was given the brief to make something that would help seven year old James Smyth.

James had both of his legs amputated as a result of Caudal Regression Syndrome, a rare condition affecting the spine.

After spending some time together, Trevor got to work making a wheelchair device that would help him handle the hills in his garden.

Trevor, who also heads up the Innovation Lab at Maynooth University, explains the finished product, which will feature on the new RTÉ series, 'Big Life Fix':
