Speaking as Co-Chair of the European Parliament’s LGBTQI+ Intergroup, Maria Walsh is warning they remain prevalent across the EU.
She is criticising Ireland for not yet banning conversion therapy, despite its record on LGBTQI+ rights.
This is a citizens’ initiative backed by over 1.2 million people urging action.
She says such practices are harmful and driven by hate and fear:
