Midlands ESB customers are seeing rising power outages over the course of the last four years.
New figures obtained by MEP Cynthia Ní Mhurchú show that ESB Network outages in Westmeath, Laois, and Offaly are up significantly since 2021.
Power cuts in Portlaoise have jumped 62% since 2021, to a total of 1996 last year.
Athlone has seen a 57% increase over the same time period, outages are up 42% in Tullamore, and 25% in Mullingar.
On average, the midlands has seen a 46.5% increase since 2021.
The ESB says reasons behind the power cuts include bird strikes, weather issues, lightening, and defective equipment.
