13 schools across the Midlands are getting approval for a government initiative to carry out small scale works.
The Summer Works Scheme will allow for projects ranging from climate action to science labs and for external environmental adjustments, with guidance from the Department of Education.
Five schools in Portarlington, Killenard, Stradbally, Clonaslee and Ballinakill will get the grants in Laois.
While in Offaly, a mixture of primary and secondary schools in Birr, Killeigh, Clara and Tullamore have been approved to carry out works, with three schools in Westmeath getting the grant in Mullingar, Ballymore, and Kinnegad.
