The Department of Housing released its latest homeless report.

There's been a slight decline in homelessness in the midlands over the course of the last month.

The news comes after the Department of Housing released its homeless report for the month of June.

It's the third consecutive month the number of people accessing emergency accommodation has gone down.

190 adults are reported to have been in emergency accommodation in the region last month.

There were 84 homeless adults in Westmeath, that's followed by 57 in Offaly and 49 in Laois.

Nationally almost 16 thousand people are now registered as homeless.
