Rosemount's Jason McHugh Dolan and Killeshin's Bill Fitzgerald have picked up accolades at the Future Timber Design Awards.
Two Midlands students have won awards at the Future Timber Design Awards.
Rosemount's Jason McHugh Dolan and Killeshin's Bill Fitzgerald have both gotten an honourable mention for the best use of Irish Cross Laminated Timber.
They both study the Master of Civil Engineering course at the University of Galway, where an awards ceremony took place this week.
Homegrown timber was required for the project in order to show its potential as a primary building material.
The awards have been developed by Forest Industries Ireland to promote sustainable and innovative timber constructio for undergraduate students of architecture and engineering in Galway and Dublin.
