Micheal Carrigy believes the centres are undermining the State's housing strategy.

The Chair of the Oireachtas Housing Committee is questioning the impact of ESB data centres on the Midlands.

Longford-Westmeath TD Micheal Carrigy feels that they could be impacting the potential for resolving issues around housing supply.

He brought up the issue of wind farms being built on the old power line for the closed Lough Ree power station.

The Fine Gael rep says that former ESB and Bord Na Mona workers haven't been consulted enough on the issue:
