Heartlands Pride kicks off today.
Athlone's first official Pride event is set to take place this weekend.
Heartlands Pride will feature events such as markets, information workshops and pride parties for a range of ages.
It comes after the organisation running the festivities, Midlands LGBT+ Project, announced it will be closing at the end of the month, due to a lack of funding.
