Minimum Wage Rates For Under-20s Expected To Remain Unchanged Until At Least 2029

Young workers under 20 can legally be paid less than the full minimum wage.

Changes to the minimum wage for young workers aren't expected until at least 2029.

Under current legislation, employers can pay workers under 20 a lower rate of the minimum wage, with some 18-year-olds receiving 80% of the full rate.

People Before Profit is calling for the system to be abolished, arguing all workers should receive equal pay.
