A spokesperson says they're working to identify patients ready of discharge.

The Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar is warning its Emergency Department is extremely busy this evening.

People are being asked to keep services for those who need them most, with a number of patients already waiting for admission.

However, if you are seriously injured or ill, the Emergency Department will assess and treat you as a priority.
