The incident occurred in Tullamore this afternoon.
Gardaí have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman in Offaly.
They're currently at a home in a rural area outside Tullamore.
A teenage boy has been arrested.
The scene is being preserved for a technical examination.
Gardaí say they are aware of images of the incident circulating on social media and are appealing to people not to share such content.
