The aim is to allow tourists to travel around safely.
Offaly county council plan to connect all villages and towns in the county with greenways.
It comes as the new cycle track is officially open at Lough Boora Discovery park.
This addition is providing 20 kilometres of safe walking and cycling routes for visitors.
Cathaoirleach of Offaly County Council, John Leahy believes the previous road network was too dangerous for people to travel on bike.
He says this new link to various tourist attractions will allow people to visit other areas in the county safely:
