A Westmeath musician has been named among the ‘Top 10 Most Imitated Irish Celebrities’.
Mullingar’s Niall Horan ranked third on the list, with many fake accounts leading fans in the wrong Direction.
Compiled by Virgin Media to mark Cybersecurity Awareness Month, the report analysed 50 of Ireland’s best-known celebrities to identify which stars attract the highest number of fake profiles.
The One Direction star remains one of the country’s most copied celebrities, with 173 fake accounts posing as the singer.
These accounts use stolen posts to pose as celebrities, often tagging real fans to appear authentic.
