The house will be located in Edenderry's Blundell Park.
Offaly County Council is announcing the first bat house project of its kind in the county.
The project is set to be located in Edenderry's Blundell Park in order to boost the site's biodiversity, next to a wildlife themed mural and a nearby astroturf facility.
It formed part of an successful proposal to Sport Ireland's 'Amuigh Faoin Spéir' fund in 2024, which supports projects combining sports and recreation with biodiversity measures.
The local authority is opening a competitive tendering process for the project, which is expected to cost just under €25,000 euro.
