Offaly TD Pointing To Fast-tracked Uisce Eireann Projects

Tony McCormack says new liegislation is helping increase the speed of delivery.

Water projects in Offaly are set to benefit from a €2bn funding boost from Government to Uisce Eireann.

€1.7bn is going to the Growth Investment Programme, and €300m will be used in the Small Towns and Villages Growth Programme, in a bid to deliver 300,000 new homes by 2030.

Funds will be allocated torwards projects in the county, such as a 3.8km pipeline to bring water to the wastewater treatment plant in Tullamore.

The water supply scheme in Pullagh and treatment plant upgrades in Cloghan, Shinrone and Birr will also be included, alongside the Shannon Pipeline project set to run through Offaly.
