Nearly 15,000 student accommodation beds have been approved but not built.

An Offaly TD is raising concerns over the lack of student accommodation for third level students from Midlands counties.

Nearly 15,000 student accommodation beds nationwide have received planning approval but have not yet entered the construction phase.

Under the National Student Accommodation Strategy, 14,000 of the targeted 21,000 purpose-built student beds have been delivered to date.
