Westmeath will see the highest level of funding granted.
Over €1.8mis to be given in funding spread across 22 midlands community groups.
€741,000 , the highest in the region, is going towards projects in Westmeath, while in organisations Offaly will see €702,000 in funding and €385,000 is headed towards Laois.
Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys, has announced €16m for projects across the country under the Community Recognition grants.
The aim of the grants are to make the towns more vibrant and enhance the quality of life for tourists and residents.
Welcoming the news, Minister for Enterprise and Longford Westmeath Fine Gael TD, Peter Burke says "It’s about giving back and saying ‘thank you’ to communities for what they do week-in, week-out."

€65,000 for Clochar Community Centre, Rathdowney to develop a community and event space for groups.
