A climate scientist based in the midlands believes that if we continue on our current path of climate change, the Gulf Stream will collapse this century.
Cathal Nolan, from Ireland's Weather Channel has been reacting to reports that suggest this could happen as soon as 2025.
This would mean a drastic change in Ireland's climate, with temperatures potenitally dropping by 4 to 6 degrees, making our weather similar to Canada's.
