Tuath Housing Association are undertaking the venture.
A €6m plan to develop a sheltered housing scheme for the elderly in Westmeath is being put out to tender.
Tuath Housing Association are behind the plan to construct around 46 dwellings as well as redeveloping a previously fire damaged school building on the site.
The Marist Brothers and Westmeath County Council are working alongside Tuath on the plans.
The tender process is due to end in early March and a preferred bidder will be selected shortly after.
