The strongest MDMA tablet ever found in Ireland was discovered at Electric Picnic this year.
The potentially lethal dose of the drug was volunteered to the HSE at the Stradbally festival as part of it's free and confidential 'back of house' drug checking initiative.
The pill, commonly known as ecstasy, contained 312 grams of MDMA - up to three times the normal dose.
The HSE says its drug checking programme found 39% of all pills tested at festivals last year were greater than 200 grams in strength compared to 19% in 2023.
