Protesters Interrupt Forum On International Security

A midlands security analyst taking part in the forum says it's designed to build public understanding on security.

Protesters have interrupted the Government's Consultative Forum on International Security Policy.

A number of people began chanting anti-war slogans and heckled the Tanaiste in Cork this morning.

Micheál Martin was opening the first day of discussions on the country's foreign, security, and defence policies.

Up to 50 people had gathered outside to protest the event, while a handful were inside the lecture hall at UCC:

People Before Profit has branded the forum a "sham" and says it's both unfair and unbalanced.
